Crucial round for semifinal hopes

Round six of the Taranaki Premier Cricket Competition will be decisive for the six teams still in the hunt for a semi final spot.  Ironically all six teams will square off against each other with FDMC and Hawera the only teams out of contention going head to head.

Top-of-the-table Inglewood takes on New Plymouth Old Boys at Western Park.  NPOB has its rep players back and will be desperate to get the points, while an Inglewood win will cement it a semifinal spot.

Surprise package Stratford travels to Sutherland Park to take on the in-form Woodleigh, having been winless after three rounds Woodleigh have back-to-back wins to keep its hopes alive but also needs to win its final two games and hope results go its way, Stratford  sits second, just one point behind Inglewood, so a win this weekend will seal a semifinal spot.

The final game of the round is a do-or-die affair with NPMU taking on NPBHS at the top field. The loser’s hopes of a semifinal will be dashed with the winner given a life line for one more week.

All games are scheduled to start at 11am, Saturday.
