Netball Taranaki is delighted to announce the renewal of their partnership with Versatile New Plymouth as major sponsor of premier netball.
Premier Netball in New Plymouth continues to showcase the regions talent with Clubs and Schools battling for the top spots. In 2025 there were six different clubs and schools playing during finals day which was attended by over 1000 spectators.
Maree Gush, owner of Versatile New Plymouth, is a passionate netballer herself and loves the excitement of the premier competition.
“I am thrilled to be able to renew my commitment to premier netball and give back to the sport I love,” she said.
“The teams had a great season last year and it is so rewarding to see the younger players coming through.
“As a local business, we’re proud to support our community. At Versatile New Plymouth, we believe in building strong foundations, whether that’s buildings, homes or local talent and premier netball reflects our commitment to teamwork, development, and backing Taranaki sport.”
Last year’s competition grand finale ended with Bell Block Marist Dragons taking the premier 3 title, Sacred Heart Girls College winning premier 2 during extra time and Tysons Marketing Tui Nga Manu Toa taking the Premier 1 title home for the second year running.
Tysons Marketing Tui Nga Manu Takehe also won the NZCT Taranaki Championship which earned them a place in premier 3 for 2026.
The Versatile Premier Netball season kicks off with preseason day on Saturday 28 March at the Hub in Hāwera. The competition begins Thursday 30 April with premier 1 and 2, and Friday 1 May for premier 3.
Netball Taranaki is also excited to announce a men’s league pilot which will be playing on a Friday night alongside premier 3 netball. More details coming soon.
